On Saturday, June 23, James River Writers will be at the Cultsha Xpo at the Science Museum of Virginia. Sponsored by CultureWorks, this annual event is a celebration of arts and culture in the Richmond area. Activities include:
- FREE admission to the Science Museum of Virginia from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Additional fees apply to enjoy special exhibitions and IMAX® films);
- FREE performances by local arts and culture organizations, including musical, visual art, theatrical, historical, dance and more; and
- Opportunities for families to learn more about classes, tickets, subscriptions, performances, and education programs.
The Cultsha Xpo is also an opportunity to provide financial support to the area’s cultural institutions, including James River Writers. Free “CultshaBucks” will be distributed to each registered cultsha member to spend with any of the organizations participating at the event. (Cultsha members, or cultural shareholders, are people who recognize and value strong arts and culture for great communities.) Grants are provided to each organization in the amount of their collected CultshaBucks.
Sign up to become a cultsha member on CultureWorks’ website. Be sure to enter “JRW” in the “Special Code” line of the online registration form — we receive $1 for every person that becomes a member for the first time. You can also learn more about the Cultsha Xpo and the mission of CultureWorks.
